Meet Jamey! She is kind of an awesome human and has become one of my good friends here on the World Race. A cool, fun fact about Jamey is that she has danced since she was little. When she talks about dance she says she loves the fact that it is so freeing. 

Freedom is an identity that the Lord speaks over us and freedom is something that the Lord has restored in Jamey’s life. 

Jamey struggled pretty much her entire life with anxiety and depression. It got to the point where in 2018, she was having panic attacks 2-3 times a day. She wasn’t able to function well or even do simple tasks such as driving to work or going to class.

Then in august of 2019 her church was doing a corporate fast. Jamey decided to fast from social media. During that fast the Lord completely healed her,and she was set free of her anxiety.

“Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free.” ~Psalm 118:5

God knows everything about us. He sees all of us. We are fully seen, fully known and fully loved by God. Even through Jamey’s period of anxiety and depression, she still could feel the Lords love. It is that hope that kept her from fully giving into depression. 

We are all invited into this freedom given by the Lord. Freedom to be who He created us to be and freedom to step all the way into the identity He has spoken over us. God does not make mistakes. He loves who He created us to be. He loves us through our mistakes; He invites us everyday to move from fear to freedom. God calls us to live for Him, and He loves us so much that He gives us the freedom to choose Him.
